Steam Vacuum

Many consumers use a steam vacuum when attempting to get out a stain from a carpet. A steam vacuum heats tap water. It combines the hot tap water with a cleaning solution.

The hot tap water and cleaning solution can be more effective for getting out stains than soap and a sponge. Many stores will rent a consumer a steam vacuum. It is also becoming more common to purchase a steam vacuum.

Commercial rug cleaning experts suggest that using a steam vacuum is not the best solution for getting out deep stains. They suggest that the cleaning solution leaves behind a residue which can attract more dirt. Still, because rug cleaning services are expensive many consumers opt for renting or buying a steam vacuum.
